Default Meditation

The purpose of meditation is to enter into direct experience with the Creator of All.

Although it can certainly be useful to have access to information that comes from external sources, like channelings, it is important to understand that if we have a strong inner connection to Source we never need to seek for answers outside of ourselves. Another way of saying this is that God made us in perfection so there is nothing outside of ourselves that we need in order to make ourselves whole, realize that we are whole.

Meditation allows us to still the external senses that typically bombard our minds with information about our world, and tune into our inner senses. We all have inner vision, inner hearing and inner feeling, and there are meditation techniques that correspond to each of these senses.

The Breath meditation allows us to feel Source.
The Light meditation allows us to see the Light of Source through our 3rd eye.
And Sound meditation allows us to hear Source, the Music of the Spheres.

There are many different approaches to each of these meditations. On the internet and in books you can find more details, if you are interested. I'll provide a couple of links that detail Breathing and Light meditations for reference:

The part of meditation that many people get frustrated with is stilling the mind. The mind is used to running constantly, providing you with unending narratives like "this isn't working", or "hey, this is going great", or "i need to remember to get bread at the store", or "oh, my back is hurting", etc. Please understand that your mind is just doing it's job, and thoughts that distract you from the stillness will arise. When this occurs, simply bring your focus back to the breath or the Light. As long as your mind isn't running constantly with it's chatter, you are making progress. Over time you can discipline yourself to enjoy longer and longer periods of uninterupted communion with Source, but you can start to enjoy the benefits of meditation long before you feel you have mastered it.

My personal recommendation is that you take time, make time in order to practice meditation as often as is reasonable for you. It's been said that meditation is not the meaning of life, it's simply a tool to enrich your life and bring you closer to Source. This, I believe, is a critical tool for those on the Ascension path.
